Hi, Deanna.

Yes, SJ has a very decent command line. Just run the batch file sj_client.bat
in the root client
directory after you install. One limitation is that you will have to run the
client on a box that
can run a GUI, even though the CL is strictly CL. It won't run on a Sun box
without X Windows
installed, for example.

You need to specify the URL for the server in the sj_client.bat file. Should be
pretty easy to
figure out. Just type "help" at the prompt to get a list of commands. One other
trick: One command
is not listed in the help for some reason. The command to view a list of
versions of a file is
"ver [filename]".

The CL is not aware of shares, so watch out for that. I don't think it can work
with the current
label architecture (it's a little bit dusty). You might end up just skipping
any labels or
re-creating them in Clear Case, which will probably not be too great a burden.

One other option you might consider if you know your way around Java is the
SimpleInterface class,
which provide a relatively simple way to automate the SJ client code.

Best of luck. Any chance of you open-sourcing your SJ to CC tool? It might be
nice for potential
SJ users to know it's not a dead end if they decide they need to switch.
