108 unlicensed clinics and drug stores in Juba closed down Wednesday, 18 January 2012 14:33 South Sudan >>> .The Minister of Health in Central Equatoria State (CES), Emmanuel Ija Baya, says 108 quack clinics and drug stores have been closed down in Juba.
Speaking to Radio Miraya on Tuesday, Baya said they are closing down the pharmacists, clinics and drug stores because they are being run by unqualified health personnel who do not even have the operational licenses. "Out of the 288 clinics, 108 were really operating very badly and we managed to close them. Some of them may improve; we told them that if they improve, we may be able to give them license," said Baya. "Improvement means if you have a clinic, they must have water, they must have toilets but a clinic without water and toilet, how will you operate? It will even be passing diseases to the patients," he explained. The Minister says the crackdown of the quack clinics and drug stores will continue to all the six counties of CES. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
