Armed men on Monday attempted to rob the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB)
branch in Torit, Eastern Equatoria State (EES).

According to a security officer in EES, Tony Costa, the robbers on
Monday put the KCB staff under gunpoint.

He told Radio Miraya that the bank closed down for a day, though no
staff were harmed.

He said the robbers escaped without taking any money from the Bank.

The security officer said the attempted bank robbery is the first of
its kind in the state.
