A Peace conference between Acholi and Madi communities started on
Tuesday in Torit - the capital of Eastern Equatoria State.

More than two hundred people from the two communities are
participating in the conference which lasts for three days.

Addressing the particpants, the Governor of the Eastern Equatoria
state, Louis Lobong, said the issue of land and border demarcation
shouldn't be a problem among the two communities.

The conference is organized and facilitated by the inter-church
committee and UN agencies. The conference aims to resolve last year's
misunderstanding between the Acholi and Langi over land that resulted
in loss of lives and properties.
