Kiir accuses Sudan of 'declaring war' against South Sudan

South Sudan President Salva Kiir, has accused Khartoum of declaring war against South Sudan – following increased bombardments by Sudanese Forces in Unity State and other border areas. President Kiir made the statement in China, while meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao. Khartoum has not made an official declaration of war, although Sudan's President Omar al Bashir last week vowed to crush the government of South Sudan. China has urged for an end to the hostilities. While in China, President Kiir officially opened the South Sudan embassy in the Chinese capital – Beijing. In his speech President Kiir said, the opening of the embassy represents a new chapter in relations between the people and governments of South Sudan and China. President Kiir said the embassy will strengthen South Sudan's bilateral relations with the Beijing government and open up mutual development in the areas of trade, technology, tourism and business opportunities.
