A tribunal court in Juba has sentenced a woman to 15 days in prison
for making a false rape claim.

The 21 year old woman is said to have made up a story that she was
raped by a taxi driver. She told Police that the incident occurred as
she took a taxi home on Saturday earlier this month.

Police investigators however, proved her story was false when they
discovered that the woman used a motorcycle to get home on that night.

The unidentified woman later admitted to making up the story for fear
of upsetting her boyfriend, who would question why she was out late at
night.

The taxi driver who was accused of rape has been released and the
woman has been jailed for 15 days.
