The chairperson of South Sudan Pharmaceutical Society (SSPS) Santino
Tito Tipo, has sounded a tough warning against the violation of
pharmaceutical regulations in South Sudan.

Speaking to Radio Miraya during a meeting of the pharmaceutical
General Assembly in Juba on Saturday, Tipo said they are going to take
punitive measures against pharmaceutical regulation violators.

He said that national parliament has passed law, regulating the
pharmaceutical sector and therefore people dealing in pharmaceutical
products should respect the law.

"We have been very close to the ministry, always advising and voicing
our concern and in that the ministry tries its level best.

"The only problem was we didn't have a law, without a law we can't
apprehend a wrong thing. Now we have got an act passed by the
parliament and signed by the president.

"Chair of the board and other members of the board will soon be
appointed and nominated by the president. I think we will have a
functional board that will put an end to all malpractices that have
happened in the past, "Tipo explained.

Tipo said they have now a task to prosecute those people doing
malpractices in pharmaceutical activities.
