Daylight intruders in Nyuak affairs Dear Arok, you are right to have
mentioned that Nyuak's problem was officiated by individuals who
thought their disunity would grant them an opportunity. Then my
question is why did Nyuak as united community allow such daylight
intruders sneak into their houses while watching? I don't think
whether passing excuses among our themselves would quickly heal our
wounds other than closing any windows behind us to avoid farther back
up from those elements surrounding us. Kuot Mabeet, RSS

Sympathy to Aliab for their land Thanks to RSS leadership for moving
Capital City from Juba to Ramchiel, the territory of Aliab Dinka and
their cousins of Yirol Counties-Atuot/Apak and Ciec Dinkas. I wanted
also to pay homage to Central Equatoria State leaders and entire
residents of Juba or CES as a whole for challenging GoSS and other
Land Grabbers in Juba. We had give GoSS and former regional government
enough lands for governments functions, but the people from Upper
Nile, Bhar el Ghazel and some from Equatorial states keep influxing
Juba to an extent that all local ethnic communities around Juba are
being encroached over by the above mentioned people. The ball is now
in the hands of Aliab Dinka politicians and entire Community of
Greater Yirol for inviting chaos on destiny. My sympathy to Aliab
Dinka and especially those innocent souls in their owns villages, knew
nothing about inevitable extinction of their destiny, cultures and
beautiful and pure lands now in hands of land grabbers. Luka Todo

How we can forge a nation Dear Awumtiadit, I read with heavy heart
your comments/threats directed against Elhag Paul for his postings.
Strange that you should react in this way. So it is true that Dinka
don't want all their bad behaviour and character to be pointed out and
to be corrected!! This was the cause of Kokora indeed and if the Dinka
think that the other tribes are cowards who will shy away and let
Dinka do whatever they want, this is a big mistake. I strongly urge
you to look carefully at the bad/negative things that are being
pointed out and as a Dinka, try having critically ponder over them and
ask yourself if we can forge a nation. Remember that it is not only
Elhag Paul who thinks of Dinka in this way!! Levi Wani, RSS

Constitution clear on land ownership Dear Dr. Andy Murusal, I for one
will not agree with your assertion that no Equatorian will move to
Ramciel come the time for relocation. I doubt whether you said this in
your capacity as Mr. Murusal or as one representing Equatorians? You
went as far as mentioning the Greater Equatoria citizens not to set
foot in Ramciel, this is uncalled for and you have no right whatsoever
to talk on behalf of those communities when you are not commissioned
to do so otherwise you will risk being sanctioned. Our Constitution is
very clear about who owns land in South Sudan and no one but govt to
set policies without jeopardizing any provision thereof.
States normally decide to change their seats of government for various
reasons in order to better balance political power and economic
development along regional lines. Perhaps you might have forgotten the
most important functions of the national capital since they are
associated with the government. Capital cities play a vital role in a
nation’s life and psyche. At first glance, the capital serves as a
central repository of political and economic power in its role as the
seat of government. I don’t need to reply to the rest of your argument
for they are baseless and uncalled for since they singled out one
community. Pawan Lodyong, RSS.

Now rule of law in South Sudan Lokiden, you could get me wrong if and
only if you are addicted to that behaviour of narrating regional and
whatever importance. So, I cannot accept your invitation or drag me
into such a degrading discussion. Additionally, the administrative
office that I meant to generate the land regulations is not the state
or county Government alone. Yes, the national Government has to take
the initiative by calling upon the state and county authorities so
that they can sit down to divide, survey and agree on the land which
belongs to the state people (Central Equatorians) and so, that should
be allotted to other nine states' people (or national Government).
Whereby any SS citizen who comes either from EES or Jonglei state for
instance, can just pay for a flat accordingly surveyed already by the
Government not randomly as we can see today. You said land regulations
are in place and implementation is a problem. This was the same factor
which convinced me. Do you think a rule of law not implemented is a
rule of law? Is it not true that a justice delayed is a justice
denied? Are these regulations available at county, state or national
concerned administrative office? Ok, if you can find this only at
county and state level, should we say there is land and its rules?
Hence, I do think that disputes over or land grabbing in a new
national capital like ours can be curbed by a national top policy of
it own. Because if even Stephen Wani Micheal, County Commissioner,
wants to end what, who supports him, how? Therefore, dear Lokiden I
want you to read my comment once more and agree with me that there is
no land rule of law in South Sudan. Bol Khan, RSS

Kiir 's apology to Obama is a shame! I don't understand why president
Kiir do not take time to evaluate his words before jumping into
conclusion. Mr. President makes mistake after mistake, and he dares
not to learn from these. The hosting of South Kordofan and Blue Nile
rebels could not be denied as they were partners with SPLA during the
twenty one years of South war with the north. Whereas, Khartoum is
until now hosting Militias and using them to destabilize and threaten
South Sudan's security. Why does president Kiir fear to speak the
truth? President Kiir 's apology looks silly to me, and will have no
importance and special consideration. If he meant to restore trust, it
is too late and his description as a liar is not going to change. Lok
Franco Kok, ROSS.

What kind of leader is Salva Kiir? Why's he rumoured to have
apologized to Obama? Obama is the President of America and Kiir is the
head of the Republic of south Sudan nation. They are equal to each
other and no leader of a nation can apologize to another leader. Those
greedy advisors in the president's office should give Kiir the right
counsels. Muorwel Atoch, Ramciel, Lakes State

Kinds of Equatorians to move to Ramciel Dear Editor, let me try to
answer the question whether Equatoria will move to Ramciel or not. My
brother who came with that question may think that the reason for
moving the Capital from Juba to Ramciel is lack of land. The answer is
a big "NO." Simply put, the reason for moving the capital to Ramciel
is the fact that our politicians are not satisfied with the land they
got in Central Equatoria State. They continuously do say the CES is
refusing land for RSS which is not true. CES is against grabbing of
land by RSS and those in charge with their relatives. As such they say
Ramciel is a "no-man's land," so they will have to move there to
Ramciel and allocate for themselves and their children acres of land,
for them they have got limited space in Juba which is not true. They
would want to acquire vast areas for themselves and their children and
their investors friends in the diaspora so that they continue to rule
and have the factors of production which are land, labor and the
capital which they have already looted, which is coming back in a
small way through the investors friends who do not pay taxes as they
are well connected.
I hope with the above in your mind you will understand that most if
not all Equatorians may not move to Ramciel, those who will move are
only the highly connected ones who are also involved in the above
business, and their motive will be to go and continue to do the same
with their comrades. The second group who will move are those whose
jobs will force them to do so, (soldiers). And, finally, the last
group will be those Equatorians who are 100% involved in the looting
of RSS and they are among those 75 who have looted RSS and will want
to move to Ramciel for the same purpose because there in Ramciel will
be the center and the engine for the same looting that took place in
Juba. They are going to start from scratch in Ramciel and as such
accountability will be limited and transparency will be completely
lacking. So my friend rest assured that some
Equatorians will be there in Ramciel and some will not set foot in
Ramciel due to what happened in the three Equatorian States. My prayer
is that you and me should have some more years to see us move to
Ramciel and see how many Equatorians are there apart from the soldiers
in the SPLA, come the move to Ramciel, I would ask you to monitor who
from Equatoria will have to move to Ramciel with their goats, chicken,
cattle and the entire relatives to go and grab land in Ramciel? Andy

You are a liar, Mr. ElHag Paul! Allow to thank you for avoiding your
usual tribal stroke of calling the entire system Dinka whatever. That
was bad! Paul, Rumbek minutes have nothing to do with Garang's
weakness, but internal politics you have no idea all about. Stop
lying! Please forgive yourself, you just an apologist, the traitor
that never stops stabbing the people of this republic every year any
time.
Second, and more importantly, Dr. John Garang wasn't corrupt or a
dictator as alleged by a Shilluk king (Paul El Hag). Garang was a
hero, and still one, whether that hurts you or not. Keeping insulting
Garang, Kiir and you will reap it dearly. Isaiah Abraham-Juba EDITOR:
Isaiah, threats have no room here!

People not well sensitized about land Dear Bol Khan, you have a very
well-put argument brother. In a democratic country like South Sudan,
rule of law is what the populace needs. However, the rule in our RSS
is but based on tribal connections. Example on this is the current
land issue in Juba where the indigenous are accused of not welcoming
members of other communities to reside in and around Juba, hence
causing mistrust among such communities and therefore comes in the
issue of land grabbing. I agree with you, brother, for the fact that
our communities are not properly sensitized about government policies
regarding land issue among others (Transitional Constitution, 2011).
Pawan Lodyong, RSS.

One nation, people and land I believe that South Sudan is one nation,
one people, and one land. During the war, we all suffered. I cannot
imagine that we have ignorant mentality that tries to divide us by
states and tribal lines. Hey, it is not easy folks. We have to accept
changes as one people of one nation on one land of the Republic of
South Sudan. We must never allow anything that can drag us back into
turmoil. I do not see anything wrong if all South Sudanese choose
Equatoria as their residential area. Equatoria is my land, Upper Nile
is my land, Bhar El Ghazal is my land, and must importantly South
Sudan is my land. We can now worry about corrupt government we have
but I can assure you that it is a matter of time. Change is coming.
New will replace the old which means dead ideas of tribalism shall
perish and new ideas of nationalism shall rise. Chot Puk, USA

Yes Equatorians will shift To Ramciel A response to the writer of an
article title 'Will Equatorians also move to Ramciel?'. I want to tell
you yes, Equatorians will shift to Ramciel as it’s the capital city of
South Sudan and every South Sudanese deserves the right to reside and
work in the national seat of the government. Secondly, by the way, you
need to put in mind that the gazetted area for Ramciel includes part
of Central Equatoria which is Terekeka County more specifically, Tali
payam, where the new International airport is going to be constructed.
Have you seen how important central Equatoria is for South Sudan? So
please shut up and educate your people how to co exist with others as
they're now cumbersome in their States and tend to migrate for
shelter. To assure you we in Central Equatoria are very welcoming as
for example: a) all South Sudanese communities are in Central
Equatoria; b) during the struggle we hosted all South Sudanese in Yei.
Now tell me which State in South Sudan has ever hosted these hostile
communities of South Sudan be it in history or else?
Brothers we need to call a spade spade and let us
accept our sin whenever we are wrong and apologies for it. I just want
to shed light on what had been stated by Bol Chan that “Lack of rule
law is the only thing which is defying Juba,” my brother, I didn’t
agree with your testament, because the case is not lack of rule of law
but rather stubbornness of heart and mind, cultural background,
military orientation and favoritism, are only blocked in the
implementation of rule of law. Because there is South Sudan
constitution, State constitution, South Sudan laws, and state laws for
land allotment even in the County level. Like in South Sudan
constitution chapter two article 170” stated that the land belongs to
the people of South Sudan, yes I do agree and in the same constitution
on the schedule “B” powers of State, it stated that state is
responsible for state land. Now we have state ministry of Housing
where you apply and make follow up with the ministry then later you're
given plot number and complete your process with various departments
within the ministry but instead of all these process people jump to
short cuts and start demarcating lands randomly, building on land
which are allotted to people and the right full owners had the papers.
If all these bad things are done to your relatives how do you feel?
Lokiden. Yei-Juba-South Sudan

Equatorian Land and SPLA/M rule in the Republic of South Sudan. The
land issues in Equatoria are not something new to talk about, but I
wanted to point out the recent incidences of land in the Greater
Equatorian States. I was in Yeii when I came to realise that land
grabbing is a project for Dinka been financed by their elders within
and abroad; especially those in the SPLA/M-led government of South
Sudan. The top ranking soldiers in those Barracks in Equatorian States
are directly and openly behind the policy of resettling Dinka in
Equatoria. In March 2012, a group of Dinka moved from Bor with their
families, pets, chickens, axes, cattle and above all carrying
unspecified weapons, went and settled in Yeii in farms of the people.
When the MPs and the local leaders questioned such illegal settlement,
the garrison commander who is a Dinka himself responded with a threat
on the local population. This is what he said “they are our family
members. So long as we are here, they can stay”. The question is, how
can one garrison commander have over three hundred heads of families
with different family sizes? How can over eight hundred Dinka move in
a group in the name of following their relative who is a commander
somewhere in Equatoria? As if that was not enough, the same incident
occurred in KojaKeji. Huge number of Dinka moved with their families,
cattle and whatever and settled illegally in farmland. The reaction of
the local people was met the same way as it happened in Yeii and they
are still there as I write.
Kapoeta is experiencing similar incident. The settlement of Dinka is
expanding rapidly and the local people still cannot figure out why all
these are happening. In Chukudum, the Didinga have to focus on Kidepo
valley. Kidepo valley is a target of Dinka Bor not only after CPA OR
Independent, but even during the struggle. The Madi people of Nimule
are still in Exile in northern Uganda. The few who are at home can’t
call Nimule their home anymore, SPLA/M policy based on permanent
settlement of Dinka in that part of Madi Land.
In central Equatoria State, the situation is very complex. Land
grabbing has cause a lot to the local population. What is happening in
Juba today are things unheard of in Modern Africa. The decision to
move the Capital out of Juba was reached based on critical analysis.
There is some evil existing in the Minds of some people. Although
moving the Capital was pronounced sometimes back, up to now there is
no sign of action from the government, yet Dinka domination is going
on without a break.
What were the roots of these dominations? The division of States and
Counties are some of the best answers. Huge land and population in
Equatoria was brought under three States and limited Counties. Upper
Nile was completely divided to get more presentation. Even today some
places like Madi Land couldn’t get a County not because of land size
or population of the people, but limiting them from preventing what
they call “Dinka settlement policy in Equatoria”. Kojakeja could have
been divided into four Counties if it was in Dinka land. But the
voices of the people are not been heard at all. The truth is, no
Counties in Equatoria which are not larger than any County in Dinka
land. Hence, Larger States; Larger Counties but Few were a policy to
Limit Presentation. These are things we can’t deny, if the government
can’t work to change it, next will be the responsibilities of the
local population, because it’s the local population that suffered.

Will corruption end in Kiir's government? Action speaks louder than
words, we have seen on many occasions where Salva Kiir Mayardit
president of the Republic of south Sudan has mentioned in all his
speeches he delivered to the people that his government has no room
for those corrupts officials. That is to say, zero tolerance on
corruption. People were very excited and were happy with the president
for his speeches, putting more confidence on the president on some of
the achievement he has taken, when he appointed justice Gatwech Lul as
the chairman of anti-corruptions commission and about the letters he
has sent to 75 corrupt officials who are suspected of looting of $4
billion dollars. These were some of the achievements that the
president has taken, people were expecting that soon there is going to
be an accountability on those corrupt officials but didn’t happen as
it was expected. Will corruption end in Kiir's government? The answer
may be either YES or NO, but in the point of view as we are expecting,
and the little observation we have seen in Kiir's government, the
answer will be 100% NO. Why? Because, since the formation of
semi-autonomous government of 2005 to this present day, there was not
even a single government official who was charged on corruption. Does
it mean that no money was stolen? 60 million were divided by the two
SPLM members (SPLM secretary general and the former minister of
finance) was there accountability? 60million south Sudanese pounds
disappear in the space of south Sudan without the suspect being
account for that. Too many contracts were signed for delivering food
items to the SPLA and there was not even a single sack of sorghum
delivered. Was there accountability? Lastly, since there is no
accountability in any crimes that the government officials committed,
we don't expect that corruption will end up in Kiir’s leadership. And
the people will also withdraw their confidence on the SPLM leadership
since all the corrupt are all SPLM members. The writer is south
Sudanese living in Juba. Both Tol

No rule of law on land grabbing Dear brothers in this website, what we
supposedly should do is to reason nationally as one people in one
country. In my view, lack of rule of law is the only thing which is
defying everything in Juba. According to my poor thinking on this case
of land grabbing or else, Central Equatorians are good people who
accepted their hometown to be a national capital since 1970s; however,
regulations from concerned administrative office are not put in place.
Now, my advice to every South Sudanese here is to find out where these
laws are hidden, otherwise tribal or regional talking shall also be
continued even in the so-called new capital, Ramciel. Bol Khan, RSS

Will Equatorians also move to Ramciel? Dear Lokiden of Yei County, I
can't understand the logic behind this Central Equatoria development
of it being the Equatorian thing. With Juba being the capital city of
South Sudan, all people of this country have every right to reside and
work in Juba for it is the seat of government. Why do you always like
to be odd among other communities of South Sudan? Your attitude
towards other communities reminds me of one Equatorian who upon having
slept one evening without little or no food at all because the house
was full with his people. I ask him what's happening this morning, you
seem not alright? He said yeah, "I am not find because I did not eat
last night for so many people were in the house. The food was not
enough and these people of mine want to live like Dinka community
where one individual shoulders all responsibility". Try to give Dinka
and Nuer a little space, please. You are few because of what you
propagate, try to welcome people so that you are welcomed too. How
about gov't relocating to Ramciel, will you be welcome or remain in
Juba? Pawan Lodyong, RSS

Only Kiir will lead in 2015 Among the three leaders mentioned above,
only president Kiir will lead in the coming election 2015, because I
have realise that Kiir is patient and understanding. If it were Riek
or Lam, there would be no independence. In reality Kiir has been
patient since the beginning of SPLM/A struggle in 1983, until we
reached to the promised land in which we achieved today our land. Riek
and Lam are tribalist leaders, they can't bring together south
Sudanese, that why they were not active in the liberation of people of
south Sudan in 21 yrs in the bush. Kon John, RSS

Coup Attempt by SPLM Generals I do not see a reason for SPLA generals
to try to overthrow the incumbent president from power, they are no
better than him in messing up with our resources, nor are they are
smarter than him in creating a prosperous democratic state. If true
that they attempted, it's for more money looting. RSS does not need
more idiots, and self-proclaimed emperors. it needs true democracy,
honesty, and transparency. Pido Akol, JUBA

Juba Construction with Oil Money? My point of view is that ignorance,
envy and hate are killing people in South Sudan and some are
traumatized of not being Central Equatorians. Mr. Both Nyout Tol,
people are coming to Central Equatoria in big numbers and they are
specifically from Lakes, Unity, Upper Nile, Warrap and Jonglei States.
I was in Yei this year for a mission, so we tried to investigate some
who came with all their animals, women, children and old people. The
questions we posted to them where as follows: (1) why are you people
leaving your ancestral land and coming to Central Equatoria since
there is CPA and why not other States of Eaquatoria? The only answers
they gave were as follows:-
A) We are looking for a peaceful place, we're told by our politicians
that Central Equatoria is very peaceful and the other two States of
Equatoria are dangerous.
B) We can find food in Central Equatoria
C) We can find Hospitals in Central Equatoria
D) We can get good schools in Central Equatoria
(2) What is the problem in the other States?
a) Killing
b) Cattle riding
c) Revenge
d) Robbery
e) No Food
Now whose problem is it, Mr. Both? Why do they leave their ancestral
land to rot and come her to disturb others on their land? I think
there is no logic here of blaming the Bari and people of Central
Equatoria. Tell me which Equatorian has gone and started demarcating
and distributing land without even consulting de State government in
Greater Bahr El Ghazal or in Greater upper Nile as is the case in
Central Equatoria now?
I want tell you that the blacktop roads in Juba are done as a
compensation for Central Equatoria assets (Ministries, Amarat
Residences and other buildings) been occupied by Goss Ministers,
Deputy Ministers, Undersecretaries, Chairpersons, deputy chairpersons
and organized forces.

And to refer you back to history after 1972 agreement, resources were
allocated for development of South Regions; those were Equatoria,
Upper Nile and Bahr El Ghazal Regions, and the money was given to
intellectuals of each region but due to the greediness of Dinkas and
Nuers intellectuals, they consumed the money and never implemented
what was meant with that money. But the money given to Equatoria
Region was implemented perfectly. These buildings are not for Central
Equatoria alone but Western and Eastern Equatoria. If you’re not
satisfied write back and I will be ready to further update you.

Will SPLM win in the upcoming election? In the first place, I would
like to congratulate the leadership of the SPLM under the chairmanship
of General Salva Kiir Mayardit and the entire people of south Sudan
for the greatest achievement we have get by attaining the independence
of south Sudan. Not forgetting our fallen heroes and heroines who gave
their lives for this freedom that we are enjoying today. It was
because of their contribution that we achieved this independence. The
following are just a summary of struggle
1. South Sudanese has been in war for period of 189 years since 1822
during the Turko-Egyptian rule under the leadership of Mohammed Ali
pasha.
2. 1881: Ahmed Ahmed Al Mahdists who want to conquer south Sudan.
3. 1899: Sudan under the condominium rule between the British and Egypt.
4. 1955: Torit mutiny against the government which resulted to killing
of gallaba officers by southern soldiers.
5: 1963: the beginning of (Anya Nya one), the first liberation
movement (south Sudan independent movement (SSIM) which resulted in
the signing of Addis Ababa peace agreement between the Anya Anya one
and the government in 1972 under Nimeri regime.
6: 1975: the (Anya Nya two) movements against the government.
7: 1983: the beginning of the SPLA/SPLM, the third civil war which
fought for 21 years with the government of Khartoum.
8: 2005: the signing of comprehensive peace agreement which gives the
right of self-determination for the people of south Sudan.
9: 9/1/2011: 99% south Sudanese voted overwhelmingly for the
independent of south Sudan from the Sudan.
10: 9/7/2011: The formal declaration of the total independent of
Republic of south Sudan that marked the end of suffering and the
beginning of freedom for the people of south Sudan. he entire people
of south Sudan under the leadership of the SPLM thought that, they
will enjoyed the fruits of their fallen heroes and heroines who
sacrificed their lives. But, the expectation of our people became
negative, services are not delivered to the people, no hospitals, no
schools, no roads. Corruption become rampant with no accountability,

US-AID without oil can't fund Juba-Nimule Highway Dear Charles Timba
and Dr Andy, without the presence of oil in these two states I
mentioned, US-AID government that you term as the funders of these
projects will not fund it without knowing that they will have some
interest later. I am not supporting land grabbing as Dr Andy quoted
but I am blaming the Bari communities who don’t allow other
communities to have land in Juba. If legal procedures were put in
place by allowing other communities to buy land as it’s in the other
states, I don’t think that land grabbing may have taken place as it’s
happening now, instead, it will enable the state government to benefit
from the money being collected from those people who buy land rather
than grabbing it without benefit. Not only that, it will also make the
city to be well surveyed if legal procedures are followed.

What if the citizens of the same country are not allowed to have land,
do you think such problems will not happen? Why are you giving land to
foreigners? Are they better than your brothers and sisters from the
other states? The whole At-labara is now controlled by the foreigners
especially Ethiopians and Somalis, why are you giving them land while
they are not south Sudanese?

On the issues of corruption, I will totally agree with you as you
mentioned the 75 individuals who looted billions of dollars in our
government, it happen and there was no accountability. Who is
responsible for all these messes? The president of the Republic, but
the issues and the cause of land grabbing in Juba is the
responsibility of Bari communities as a whole. The writer is the south
Sudanese. Juba- south Sudan. Both Toal Kuok.

Nimule road funded by USA Juba-Point of correction to the letter by
Bothy Nyout Tol about LAND GRABBING IN JUBA? i just want to comment on
the sentence that Juba-Nimule road was made or constructed by money
from Unity and Upper Nile state, it was not true, Mr. Bothy Nyout Tol,
Juba-Nimule road was funded by USAID USA government. Charles Tiba,
JUBA

Impending looting in Ramciel Dear Nyout Tol, your knowledge of the
resources collected for the development is not enough. You do not know
even how the Juba-Nimule road was funded. Why do not you dig deep to
find out how and where does the money for construction of Juba-Nimule
Road come from? As you have mentioned if it were to come from the Oil
money , what would have happened to it? The 75 would have increased or
doubled their loot. Almost all the oil money has been looted and as
such you can say the money is used for the development of Juba. Wait
and see the looting that will start with the construction of Ramciel.
DO you have to support land grabbing simply because the Juba-Nimule
Road was built by RSS money and Juba was also built by RSS money? You
have gone completely astray and as such we need to call a spade a
spade as the land grabbing is real and it sweeping the dust the under
the carpet. Dr Andy, Juba, South Sudan

LAND GRABBING IN JUBA? What is the cause of land grabbing in Juba? Is
it the communities of Juba who don't allow the other communities to
own land in Juba causing this problem of land grabbing, or is it the
people who supposed to own the land as a bill of rights stipulated in
the interim constitution? Why Juba communities are self-fish by not
allowing other people not to own land? Why the issue of land grabbing
is not existing in other major towns but only in Juba? Does it mean
that it's Central Equatoria land that belongs to communities of Juba
alone? Does it mean that there are no Bari communities in the others
towns of south Sudan who own land in those particular states? Why
different communities from south Sudan come to Juba? Is it because
they prefer Juba more than their states or it's because Juba is
capital city of south Sudan? What attracts others to come to Juba?
Does it mean that Juba is the best city among other cities in south
Sudan?

The Bari communities should know the resources that are used now for
construction of Juba as the capital city are collected from those
communities whose people are now termed as land grabbers (Jengee). Why
are we not complaining? Do we have tarmac roads in the other states?
Why the national government is just concentrating on the development
of Juba only? the hard currency and the asphalt used for construction
of these major projects particularly in Central Equatoria, e.g., the
tarmac highway road connecting Juba and Nimule which is not existing
in others states was constructed using the resources collected from
those states of Upper Nile and Unity states. Why they are not
complaining? Is central Equatoria a different country that considers
the other people from the other nine states as a foreigners that don't
deserve to be given land as south Sudanese who shared the same
struggle with them?

Lastly, the issue of land needs government to insert its effort, that
is to say, government is to change its policies of giving land to the
communities in order to avoid conflicts over the land, in which the
Bari communities in central Equatoria take it as the way of
threatening other people in south Sudan. According to constitution,
every citizen has a right to have land as stipulated in the bill of
rights. If land belongs to the communities as stipulated in the
interim constitution of south Sudan, then, the resources which are
underground of this particular land shall also be owned by those
communities and no any other person from different communities will be

have seen last month on newspapers. Not only that, no any other state

SPLM turned dictatorial and tribal I do agree with the viewpoint of
Mr. Kuano in Canada. We are getting to the same views. But corruption
in Kiir'S government is so rampant that it can make the Pope to sin.
What kind of government which does not have internal regulations? I
want to flash back a little bit for Mr. Kuano to understand. For those
of us who're there at the beginning of SPLM formation, it was a mass
movement; a movement by the people and for the people. Soon it turned
dictatorial and then tribal. We won't stop pointing to the Dinka
domination until reformation is done in SPLM. People will work against
SPLM-dominated Dinka until reformation is restored. I do agree with
Kuano that Shilluk are also corrupt like the two top Shilluk... you
guess who!! They're SPLM members that the opportunity made them to be
thieves. Yorwin Otor, ROME, ITALY

"Twic East, you can't have it in Chol Moong's ways" There is something
uncouth and unhealthy breeding between my communities Bor and Twic
that we don't want to be carried into the future unresolved. That is
the issue of the right name to call the three counties namely, Bor
county, Twic county and Duk county. I was compelled to write this
piece in uneasiness by the way John Adoor Deng and many more wrote on
Southsudannation.com by referring to Bor county as Bor south and Twic
East as Twic East. This address shows an utter disrespect for the
community at large. What all people know that exists is Bor county not
Bor South. Since time immemorial Bor has been known by the name Bor
and Twic as Twic, I don't know yet where they got "East" from. During
John Garang's emergence into the political scene as the SPLM/A leader,
he solely come up with the names of Bor South, Bor central and Bor
North to advance his political scope without consultation of the
community. These names existed and were used only in liberated areas
but rarely in greater Bor native land as majority were against them.

It's worth noting that the emergence and demise of John Garang into
and from political arena created and planted bitter acrimonies between
communities due to lack of trust and concrete political settlement of
the right name to refer to the three counties combined. Twic county
refused to be called by the name Bor North as John Garang was highly
delighted in him being called with. They rather added the word East to
Twic to further distance themselves from their son John Garang's
policy of uniting Bor community under the umbrella of Bor with South
and North as the only difference. By the way, the name Bor mean
"float" in Dinka and was used by the entire community many years
before everyone became drunk with politics.

The crux of the matter came in when our brothers Twic developed
interest in calling themselves Twic East but refer to others as Bor
South. If there is Bor South then where is the Bor North then because
you can't have South without North. What we learned is that Twic East
wants to maintain their name of Twic and then Bor North in as well but
in disguise.

This brought us to the story of our Dinka giant named Chol Moong. Chol
was a huge man and used to eat a lot. One time he was invited to two
feasting ceremonies by both his married daughter and a son at the same
period. So having been unable to make the proper choice and wanting to
have both meals at same time. Chol decided to go to the crossroad
where the road lead to his daughter's and son's homes and put his
right leg to his daughter's home road and the left leg into his son's
home. He then tried to walk both ways but he was unable to make it.
Therefore, Chol made up his mind that he'd rather stay without a meal
that day and returned home hungry.

Lastly, I'm appealing to our leaders to find a combined name that can
be accepted by all our community to avert grappling and wrangling over
what appropriate name to use. Madit Magot, Australia.

Tribal loyalty ruining SPLM party I'm responding to this article
"Kiir's government is corrupted to the knee." Nowadays the corruption
has aided the tribal differences that we've in south Sudan, including
opposition parties and not sing loud about SPLM as being a corrupted
party. I think the problem isn't SPLM as revolutionary movement which
has very good principles, it is rather the tribal loyalty that is
ruining the SPLM party. For some south Sudanese they portray it as a
Dinka government which isn't true. On the other hand it also makes
sense when one sees all the important organs of the SPLM party are
being run by the one group of people, but there's one thing I don't
agree with the comment of Mr. Yorwin Otor is that corruption is like a
sin, so therefore you can't say that Shilluk people aren't corrupted.
Kuano, CANADA

Pres. Kiir is too soft to lead our people I'm pretty much agreed with
Mr. Isaiah Abraham's article, first of all South Sudan had been in
war for decades, in those years of fighting, we've lost a lot of
people who'd fought that war to liberate us and our now Nation, "South
Sudan." We need to honor those heroes every single year because we
can't forget them easily. After the war, all the marginalized people
of South Sudan thought that there would be a change because SPLM/A
who're their sons fought the war to liberate them. Meanwhile the
fruits of their hard work is freedom, but that dream is still way
farther to what everyone thought. Our hope has diminished without
knowing it when can we be relieved from this governing party, SPLM.

Our government would've sheltered those fatherless children with some
places to stay and make them forget their terrible thoughtfulness in
which they'd gone through without fathers, and also to recognize the
dead heroes commanders like comrade William Nyuon Bany family by
building a huge house for his families and a museum for his name in
Ayod, his hometown, for his kids to carry on his legacy. But did our
government fulfill that dream? South Sudan lost some of its bravest
people during the war and we all know that, without those heroes'
achievements we wouldn't have heard the flapping sound of our flag
being swayed by the wind today.

Those corrupted officials are enjoying themselves with our oil money
without improvement to show the world that we'd really fought Khartoum
government for our freedom, equality and the lack of development, but
this governing party have ignored the fact and pocketed our resources
money inside their bellies and foreign banks.

It won't definitely end like that, instead we'll wage another war
inside South Sudan to remove this SPLM party. This internal enemy
needs to be ousted out of power before we know that we've finally
freed our fellow citizens. Kiir's dream is much different from what
Dr. Garang had fought for. Dr. Garang, along with his bravest men
fought for our freedom till the day he was killed instantly in what
I'd call "wrongful death," which still no one knows about till this
day. No one cares about his death either from these corrupted
belly-fillers, SPLM officials within Juba.

Pres. Salva Kiir has failed our Nation South Sudan and it's people,
meanwhile our VP, Dr. Machar is following Mr. Blind, without objection
because Kiir would growl at him like a hungry lion. They've both ran
the country down the drain without rescuing it because Kiir is deaf in
both ears and no one would dare to whisper to him closely except his
own likeness, the corrupted cowboys from Gogrial. Now they're
enriching themselves with our money while some of our citizens are
starving in their presence.

Despite all that, they've failed even in the foreign agenda, such as
this ongoing negotiation with Sudan. The facts can be seen how they're
buying back our own given land by God by offering some money to those
Northern terrorists who're thirsty for another blood.

Kiir lied even about anti aircraft, these Arabs are still bombing our
country and he hasn't done anything about it.

Kiir along with the SPLM party think that South Sudan started with
them just like what Dr. Garang had told the crowds during his visit to
Washington-DC that NCP thinks that, "Sudan started with them."

Kiir is too soft to lead our people, he has totally shutdown our
economy to the standard where he can't prove his governance, but
deceiving our citizens with all kind of lies on daily basis that
they're building pipelines to transport our oil. That's a white lie.
Till this day no single pipe has been laid on the ground to ease our
thinking toward the starvation of our people without food.

A government which doesn't satisfy the needs of it's people can't be
called a government at all, but a robbers' band to loot our resources
money and go hide them in the foreign banks. Kiir must know that a
government is by the people and for the people. Tiger Lueth he is a

"Don't engage a girl in Dr Machar's pants," .Isaiah.
Dear Isaiah Abraham, first and foremost I'm extending my great
gratitude for the impressive article you ever wrote about the South
Sudan issues. I went through your article closely and learned that you
just pinned the points coherently and with great insight.
Most if not all of your claims hold a great deal of salt. However,
what caught my attention is the deep regret that you bestowed on Dr
Machar whom you accused of being an accomplice with Kiir in tearing
the country down with rampant corruption.
May I remind you, Mr. Isaiah that our leader Dr Machar is as good as
bad than you'd been expecting as you wrote pampering him in the recent
past. Machar hasn't been clean and wholesome ever since and you know
it. He claimed lives and he's too amongst the list of leaders who lead
as well as mislead in the current dilemma that our country is
undergoing. You'd have noticed this obscurity earlier. The good thing
is that Machar has exerted a great deal in detaching himself from his
past and will take a while to see him in an impressive colour. You've
been warned many times, Mr. Isaiah, that don't delve too much in
engaging a girl (politics) in Dr Machar's pants or should I say suits
to sound a bit respectful. This time that you Mr. Isaiah is getting
fed up with Machar is the very time that we're seeing a grain of hope
in Machar unlike the recent past.
Well, our Dinka proverb goes that, " raan ace joony ke Lo aye joony ke
bo," meaning don't urge someone to leave some duty he embarked upon
but instead urge him to complete the task when he wants to leave it."
Thus, let's encourage our leaders to do more but but let's not abandon
them at the very last hour." Madit Magot, Australia
