TONJ NORTH COMMISSIONER SUMMONS JOURNALIST

The Commissioner of Tonj North County in Warrap state has accused the
Citizen Newspaper correspondent in Wau over false publication and
summoned the reporter to apologize.

Marko Awuoc Kuot told Voice of Hope that Citizens newspaper have
published a story reporting that his County wants to join Western Bahr
El-Ghazal State.

He refuted the allegation as false and asked the journalist to
immediately publish a counter apology story or face the court.

Mr. Awouc said the agreement his County made with Jur River County
authorities in was a grazing land deal.

Francis Mading Chol, Greater Tonj Youth Union Secretary-General,
clarified that the community of Kwach in Gogrial East County was the
one that appealed to join Western Bahr El-Ghazal and not the people of
Tonj North County.

He blamed the journalist for not consulting the rightful source who
would have given reliable information for publicity.

The newspaper correspondent promised to write an apology
