BOR, 22 February 2013 [Gurtong] – Ojulo said that roads open up for
development to take place and the lack of roads in the area is
hampering education.

“Education in Pochalla is very bad because it is isolated from the
state counties, there is no way to it except by air and there are no
regular airplanes. The only means of transport is through the United
Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) flight,” Ochalla said.

He said that after shooting down of United Nation Mission in South
Sudan (UNMISS) helicopter in Likuangole payam of Pibor County in
December, all the UNMISS flights to the area stopped.

“There are many primary schools in Pochalla County but the lack of
teachers is the major problem and they have no secondary schools,”
said Ochalla.

He said the community is constructing one secondary school with the
Community Development Funds (CDF).

He said that state Education Ministry is in the process of employing
some teachers to be deployed to the county.

“I hope that our situation will improve more and this needs all of us
to cooperate and put hands together and forget all events so that we
can deliver the services to our people,” he said.

Speaker has said that most of the pupils who completed their primary
eight do stay in the county without going for further studies due to
lack of high schools in the county.
