TORIT, 22 February 2013 [Gurtong] –The Ministry’s Acting Director
General Peter Par Gulung announced that the late professor Luka Ipoto
was undergoing treatment in the Kenyan capital when he passed away.

He said the late had a successful operation but unfortunately he later
developed some complications which prompted Doctors to operate for the
second time which further worsened the situation until he was referred
to Tanzania.

He died while arrangements were being made to transfer him to Tanzania.

The ministry on behalf of the State and family members, friends,
relatives and colleagues has extended its deep regret while sending
condolences to them.

Par said, “The late professor Luka Ipoto knew his job very well. He
was so good, kind and portrayed real principles of leadership styles.
He delivered humbly and did not have any problem with any either
junior staff or equal colleagues. He gently questioned and answered us
whatever a case was. We really mourned him and we pray that his soul
be eternally taken by God in peaceful way. We are also part and parcel
of his grieved family members.”

He revealed that the ministry officials have joined the family members
of the late for mourning with the ministry taking the lead in
supporting the family.

The ministry is logistically arranging to transport the body of the
late for final burial in Torit.
