BOR, 23 February 2013 [Gurtong] – Jok said that IOM donated 12
motorbikes and 55 bicycles for Jonglei state in which one county was
to have five bicycles and one motorbike to be used for monitoring
returnees in the state.

“The distribution of the assets was done at county level to the RRC
staff were one payam was having five bicycles for the staff and one
motorcycle for the county secretary,” Jok said.

“We believe that it will make change because some years backs the
enumerators were usually footing from village to village and as for
now the presence of these bicycles will allow the movement of
enumerators to be easy from the villages,” he said.

He said that they are very grateful to IOM for the donation they have
received from the state level.

“It was a challenge to us in all those years to facilitate the work
without mobility so we believe with the receiving of these few assets
from IOM it will improve our RRC facilitation and coordination,” he
adds.

He also said distribution of assets will support Bor county RRC to
cover some of the location that were not been reached before and will
ease the monitoring of the communities.

He said IOM is their major partner supporting and facilitating the
work of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission together with the
United Nation High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
