MATTER OF TIME FOR ARMY TO RID PIBOR OF YAU YAU Saturday, 20 April 2013 14:26 |
The army is reorganizing following last month’s battles in Pibor County against David Yau Yau’s rebels and it will defeat them soon. Army spokesperson Philip Aguer told CRN that the military operations against the rebels were progressing and the SPLA defeated the rebels in five areas including Okello where the rebels were operating a the secret supply airstrip. He added that the army was capable to carry out more operations against the rebels to flush them out of Pibor. Colonel Aguer said the military operations in Pibor County were costly but he did not advance any figure. The army spokesperson added that the security situation in the borders with Sudan was okay after each army withdrew 10 kilometres away from the borderline to create a safe demilitarized corridor. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
