Two Killed, Two Others Wounded At Fangak Wedding

Two people have been killed and two others wounded during a wedding in
Fangak County, Jonglei State, an official has said.

BOR, 17 May 2013 [Gurtong] – The Fangak County Commissioner John
Matien Kuol has said that Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA)
officer returned back from his leave and killed a man and wounded two
women in a wedding on Thursday in Fangak County.

Matien said on phone from Fangak that after the death of a civilian,
the brother to the dead person went and killed a brother of the SPLA
officer.

“The incidence happen when an officer identified as Gadet Ghai opened
fire at the gathering during socialization at wedding dance in the
villages of Tungruop of Manajam Payam,” Matien said.

Commissioner said the suspect might have been drunk and that is why he
started shooting randomly in the wedding adding that the investigation
will be conducted to find out what had happened.

The county commissioner said that wounded people have been admitted at
Juaibor hospital, the county main hospital.

He said that authorities concerned have taken some measure by sending
police to the area adding that his villages within the county have
been calm.

He said that within the county all the soldiers were given
instructions not to come to the county headquarters with their rifles
for the sake of better security in the county.
