Oil flows again after short delay
Economy >>> . (22nd May, 2013) - South Sudan crude oil has started flowing to Port Sudan after a temporary suspension, Petroleum and Mining Minister Stephen Dhieu Dau said. He said the crude oil is flowing from Jebellen oil station to the refinery facility in Port Sudan. Dau explained that the temporary suspension of the flow was scheduled, and was due to resume on May 19 but there was a short delay. He denied recent speculation that Khartoum had shut-down the flow of crude oil through to Sudan. “These reports are not true. As I speak to you the pump station in Jebellen has been opened and the oil is now flowing to Port Sudan,” the minister said. “There was a delay for opening of that pump station as it was agreed and scheduled by the operators. It was supposed to open on 19 May, but with unclear reasons it was not opened. “I want to assured our people and the public that the oil from Polloch is flowing to Jebellen as normal.” Meanwhile, Dau said the media has misquoted President Salva Kiir’s statement on Tuesday saying Khartoum had “taken unilateral decision to stop oil flow” over accusations South Sudan was supporting Sudanese rebels. Mr Dau left for Khartoum on Wednesday to meet with his Sudanese counterpart Awad al-Jaz to discuss issues related to the oil flow. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
