Kiir urges new police graduates to shun corruption
South Sudan >>> . (21st May, 2013) - More than three hundred and seventy immigration and Passport Police officers have graduated in Juba. The officers, who include 41 females underwent six months of intensive training at Rajaf Police academy in Juba. While officiating at the graduation ceremony at the Juba Football stadium, President Salva Kiir Mayardit cautioned the officers to portray a good image because they will be the first contact with South Sudan. “Present a positive image of South Sudan. You will be required to work closely with custom officers to provide an efficient flow of both goods and people to our border. President Kiir also warned them against corruption. “This is also an area where opportunities for corruption are presented to you. Don’t take what we don’t deserve. You take what is supposed to be collected from that person. This is going to be your work.” Meanwhile the Minister of Interior Alison Magaya added words of encouragement for the graduating class. “We have done our part by giving you the training you needed to be successful at your career and now it is your time to live up to the expectation of the people of South Sudan. To serve our citizens honestly and all those who will be coming to South Sudan, they should be treated fairly and with dignity.” -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
