This followed heavy rainfalls two months ago that resulted flooding in the region hence making the Atiak-Nimule road become so impassable, police officials have lamented. One of the traffic police officers’ Majok Deng told the press that it was until last week when the road had begun improving hence giving access to the vehicles coming to Nimule. Due to the coming of the numerous vehicles that were detained by the impassable road from Uganda, the park became so small that it cannot accommodate all the vehicles for clearance. “All the three parking yards of Nimule here and almost all the fields like the football fields and other open places like the area of Nimule payam office are already full of vehicles that are not yet cleared, and there are many vehicles that are still coming on the way yet there are no more parking places, this is why we have allowed the vehicles to be parked by the road side and I really don’t know what will happen next since more are still coming,” said Majok to the journalist. The traffic police officer said they are trying by all means to save the situation of the citizens. He added that they are not enough in relation to the current traffic jam but the few are doing their best.
