*TORIT, 12 February 2014 [Gurtong] - *Hon. Speaker Emmanuel Ambrose
Ocholimoi announced the adjournment because the State High Court President
Justice Abraham Majur Lat was not timely invited to preside over the
function.

The Speaker however said the State High Court President Justice Majur has
now been informed accordingly.

Speaking to Gurtong recently at her residence in Batari residential area in
Torit, Hon. Ikoli expressed gratitude to the governor for considering her
for the appointment. She pledged to fill the void left by her predecessor
the Late Marcelo Dominic Otwari.

"Though many people came to me and informed me that I could be an MP to
replace the late Hon. Otwari, I did not believe. The governor consulted me
after he sent many citizens to talk to me," she said.

"Now, I am so overwhelmed and I promise to work hard not to fail my people.
I need to meet their expectations. I know my people suffered long because
the position has been vacant for long."

She thanked all those who supported her for the current position, President
Salva Kiir, inclusive because he took a final decision directing the
governor to appoint her.

The new MP called for cooperation, teamwork and promised to ensure her
constituents enjoy basic services that have been missing due to vacuum left
by late Otwari.

According to some state officials, there were three names sent to the
president in Juba for consideration but the others were advised to remain
patient as many appointments are underway.

Late Otwari died in November 2012 while undergoing treatment in Juba after
he suffered a stroke a week earlier in Torit.
