*JUBA, June 1, 2015 [Gurtong] *- The state government relocated to the
oil-rich Melut County following the ongoing conflict that has badly hit the
state capital Malakal.

The State Minister for Information Peter Hoth Tuach said the governor’s
visit aimed at acquainting himself with the situation on the ground.

“The visit came just days after SPLA re-captured the capital Malakal and
several other areas from the opposition forces led by former VP Dr Riek
Machar,” Tuach said.

He said Melut town remains the seat of the state administration after last
week’s clash between the anti-government forces and the SPLA over its
control.

“The government has managed to secure the town and it is now peaceful,”
said Tuach.

The Governor appealed to the communities in the state to remain united and
to keep away from divisive ideas advanced by politicians.
