By Agoth Abraham *AWEIL, June 15, 2015 [Gurtong] *- Mawien was summoned in writing by the lawmakers in May this year to appear before parliament and answer to self-imposed authority he has over introducing new recruitments and promotions in various government ministries, introducing a 3-month salary cuts from government civil servants’ employees and introducing Jobseekers cards for employment where his ministry collects fees from applicants. While appearing to respond in person, the Minister defended himself saying he acted in accordance to his ministerial objectives and visions. “Right Honorable House, when I was appointed as a state Minister of Labor, Public Service and Human Resource Development, I presented my ministerial vision and objectives which included all those you asked to be clarified, I was by then following keenly to make sure these plans are implemented and executed accordingly.” The Minister though he did not seem to have cleared the doubt from the legislators he believed to have convinced the members of the August house of what his plans were. He was asked by the lawmakers to stop cutting salaries, issuing jobseekers cards and bringing all his ministerial work objectives for acknowledgement in the assembly. “He explained to us all his plans and what made him to do what he was summoned for. What we told him was that when he has anything he wishes to do in his ministry, he must submit in his plans for the ministry’s objectives, so that the assembly is able to review and approve the plans if necessary.” The chairperson of Information and Public Relations, Hon. Achak Thiep told the press last week upon the conclusion of the Minister’s presentation. ------------------------------ [image: Bookmark and Share] <https://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?v=250&pub=xa-4a8952f0662ccc6f> -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
