Abyei Region Experiencing An Influx Of IDPs The Relief and Rehabilitation Commission in Abyei has confirmed an influx of internally displaced persons following clashes that erupted in July between the Apuk and Aguok of Warrap State. 04 August 2015
By Daniel Angok M * ABYEI, 3 Aug 2015 [Gurtong]*-Last week, the Abyei Minister of Information Alor Dou Al Beit told the media that the region is receiving thousands of IDPS from Unity and Warrap States. Dhieu Bul Deng, the Director for Relief and Rehabilitation Commission in Abyei Region said that they have received 260 households from Warrap State as a result of the continuous inter-clans conflict. Earlier last week, “we received and registered 260 IDPS from Warrap due to the inter-clans clashes between Aguok and Apuk of Greater Gogrial Counties” Dhieu Said. He noted that the IDPS that entered Abyei from Greater Gogrial of Warrap were received at the areas of Nyiel near Mager in Alal County while the IDPs from Unity State are now being put up at Mijak Village in Rumamer County. Dhieu Bul said that they have already received over five thousand IDPs since the beginning of the conflict in the country.
