WAU, August 6, 2015 [Gurtong] – Nyachan made her remarks on Thursday while
entertaining hundreds of people who gathered at Wau cultural theater in
marking the first year of Golden Wing Aviation airline in the region.

“I want to tell our people that you have to unite, you have to reconcile
and forget the past, we have to live in a way that unites us as people of
South Sudan and we have to open a new page.” she said.

“Love is very important, we have lost our loves ones in this conflict. How
many women have lost their husbands and children during this war?”

Nyachan said that the country will not develop if the war persists.

“You have to lay down your guns because guns cannot unite our people, it
will destroy our nation, it cannot develop our nation,” she said.

Nyachan urged the two worrying parties of the conflict to compromise for
the sake of peace ahead of next round of peace talks in Ethiopia.
