*TORIT* – A group calling itself Nyikothowa literally translated as White Army in one of Equatoria Languages has warned Juba Government to respect this final round of peace talk for the greater good of the people of South Sudan. Nyikothowa, a term adopted by all Equatorial Youth in the region, after joining the Arrow Boys, a group that has been acting in defense of Equatorian people, strongly demands Kedeta to leave the Equatoria Region should the Juba Government fails to sign peace with Riek Machar, the leader of the Opposition Group fighting Juba forces for 20 months. According to one of the youth who decided to remain anonymous, told the Upper Nile Times that “Juba, the capital of South Sudan, will be a political ghost town if peace fails to materialize.” “We are hearing the news of Paul Malong Awan, and his tribal government making noises in our land that a ‘shot to kill move be taken into consideration by the army.” However; we are sending a strong signal to the Chief of Staff that if peace is not signed on the 17th of August, your government will be dislodged from Juba. From August 17 to 25, 2015, you will see Nyikothowa in Juba,” they warned. They also said, “we are tired of these cattle headers who think they own the land of our ancestors” referring to a Dinka tribal Government in Juba in a term the Upper Nile Times has never heard as Kedeta meaning Dinka Cattle Keepers. When asked why the angry youth warned to strike the Capital City. He said, they are using Juba as a shelf to impose injustice, corruption, and all sort of human rights abuses. We cannot allow them to stay here. They have to go back to their own region and abuses their own people instead,” he uttered. In addition, the program introduced by Riek Machar advises the people of South Sudan to rule themselves in their own regions. Our leaders have been saying federalism is the best form of governance, therefore; it should be adopted. But the Juba Government is saying they are not willing to accept such demand. “Mind you if you want peace, you should accept federalism, if you don’t want peace, continue with your pathetic behavior and we will hit you really hard,” he said. Another youth who cautioned us not to release his name also said “our youth groups (Arrow Boys, united under Nyikothowa) are teaming up now from around Equatoria Region at large saying they should take these thieves out of this land, they warned.” The genocidal regime of Salva Kiir has been slaughtering people senselessly thinking Equatoria is a slaughtering house. Well, it is not! We will take you out and will accomplish this mission by looting their Cattle and marches to Juba. We will use the cattle as food while chasing the Kedeta out of our land if they don’t know. We are warning them that they should either reach peace or leave peacefully should peace fails. The violence fitted the government of Salva Kiir against his former Vice President Riek Machar leaving 4 million internally displaced and 1.9 million people to seek refuge in the neighboring countries. Talks have been mediated on numerous occasions, but both parties failed to reach a possible peace and cessation of hostilities. The Upper Nile Times will continue to monitor the situation on the ground and keep you tune.
