Amadi authorities say fleeing civilians returning home Paul Night | August 3, 2016 | 3:13 pm
People internally displaced by the recent fighting between the SPLA and armed youth loyal to Wisley Welebe are now returning to their houses, say Authorities in Amadi State. Last month, fighting broke out in Mundri town between the two sides, leaving at three people dead and many others injured. Church leaders and state officials said thousands camped in church compounds and schools for fear of further escalation of fighting. The state minister of information, Victor Maburuk, says most of the displaced have not vacated the compounds. “They have gone back to their respective places, and schools have even resumed today, everything is coming to normal. Lanyi and Medewu are peaceful they are fine there is nothing bad going there.” The latest humanitarian report by the UN does not cover the situation in Amadi State. -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
