Governors To Conduct Peace Rally Over Disputed Area The Governors of Gok and Western Lakes States on Tuesday agreed to conduct a peace rally over the disputed territory of Bhargel /Ngap Counties.
05 January 2017 By Mabor Riak Magok RUMBEK, 05 January 2017 [Gurtong]- Madhang Majok Meen and Abraham Makoi Bol during the creation of the Counties named the same territory as part of their Counties in their respective States. The Governor of Gok State, Madhang Majok Meen urged the people of the two areas to remain calm as a peaceful solution over the disputed territory is reached. The Governor of Western Lakes State, Abraham Makoi Bol urged both communities of Beli and Gok to co-exist peacefully until the issue of Bhargel is resolved. The Governors outlined areas of immediate focus and how they should be approached as both agreed upon to incorporate their work and report of the first joined Committee with immediate effect. They also agreed to visit both communities along Makoor, Bar-Gel and Bhargel/ Ngap center to address them on the issue.
