Ugandan boda-boda rider killed in Yei town

YEI (20 Mar.)

A Ugandan national working as a ‘boda-boda’ motorcyclist was killed in Yei
town on Friday night after quarreling over a phone with a friend, a local
official said.

The late Kaguta Seme, a boda-boda rider and local musician was stabbed to
death at Dar-Salam-Lizira Street in Yei.Close friends to the late said
Kaguta had a quarrel with a friend over the ownership of a smart phone the
evening before his death.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj at the scene, Yei River County Commissioner
Dennis Lasuba said investigations will be launched to ascertain the
circumstances of the incident.“The victim happened to be a Ugandan
national; we have police at the scene carrying out investigations. A case
will be opened, and the investigations will be carried out. It is very
unfortunate and I personally condemn it,” said Lasuba.“We cannot resolve
dispute by taking out someone’s life and that is uncalled for. Therefore, I
call on the community to refrain from these bad activities” he added.

Last week, Pastor Simon Kwaje was also found dead along the Yei-Mukaya
road.
