First Vice President leaves Bor for Pibor

South Sudan’s First Vice President Taban Deng Gai has left Bor today
morning for Pibor town, where he will hold talks with authorities there in
an attempt to make peace between the two communities of Jonglei and Boma
states.

Gai, who visited Bor town on Tuesday, was accompanied by Information
Minister Michael Makuei and Minister of Gender Awut Deng Achuil.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj today, Moses Ajang, Director of Information in
the Office of the First Vice President, confirmed that Taban Deng and his
delegation travelled to Pibor town today.However, he said the Information
Minister Michael Makuei who is a member of the delegation couldn’t go to
Pibor town together with the Taban Deng. “No, Michael Makuei did not go. It
is only Awut Deng Achuil, minister of gender, child and social welfare and
Achuil Malith Bangool, who is representing SPLM acting secretary general,”
said Moses.

He explained that Michael Makuei was left in Bor to conduct further
consultation with his Bor community.Ajang pointed out that another team led
by deputy minister of labour David Yau Yau had arrived in Pibor.
