Tonj State has arrested two sub-chiefs and unspecified number of women
who allegedly took part in robbing the World Food Program’s, WFP food
items in its truck last week.

Tonj Acting Governor, Manhiem Bol Malek says the suspects are under
investigation and will be charged according to the law if found
guilty, Don Bosco Radio.

He says the tyre of the WFP vehicle had a puncture and got stuck for
seven days, but the driver tried his best to pull out.

Bol says the driver wanted to return to Warrap to repair the car
before proceeding to Kongoor.

But the citizens thought the truck was taking back their food to
Warrap town and immediately robbed the items, he adds.

Bol says the authorities managed to recover over one thousand bags of
mixed food items.

He says police has been dispatched to the area to collect the looted items.

Bol warns citizens to stop doing any similar incident again in future.

The driver was not available for comments.
