Dozens of government soldiers and some civilians have been admitted at Renk
Hospital following fighting with armed opposition forces in Kuek area on
Sunday, a local official said.

Northern Upper Nile Minister of Health, Paulino Awana, told Radio Tamazuj
on Monday that the Renk Hospital had received more than 10 wounded SPLA
soldiers and some civilians injured in crossfire on Sunday morning.

Minister Awana pointed out that the wounded people are currently receiving
treatment at the hospital and that they are in stable conditions.

South Sudanese rebels announced Monday the capture of Kuek area in northern
Upper Nile near the Sudanese border, saying they defeated government troops
after fierce battles on Sunday.
