Citizens evacuated from Wadakona after fighting: official

Civilians in Wadakona and Omaro areas which lie on the west bank of Upper
Nile have been relocated to Renk town after fighting erupted between
government troops and opposition fighters on Sunday, a government official
said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Muzabmil Ojuok, a senior official at
the relief commission in Fashoda state said they managed to relocate over
300 women and children to Renk due to insecurity in Wadakona and Omaro
areas.Ojuok pointed out that Renk area which lies on the east bank of Upper
Nile is stable.
