The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning have reveals a proposed budget of 46 billion South Sudanese pounds for the fiscal year 2017-2018. Stephen Dheiu Dau says the key priority areas for the government will be spending on salaries and transfers, Radio Bakhita reports. The budget constitutes 62 percent funding for peace, he adds. Twenty nine billion is available to fund the budget and the remaining deficit of sixteen billion will be gathered through increasing non oil revenue collection, he notes. The budget was delayed due to administrative issues in the parliament and has been approved by the cabinet and it will soon be tabled before parliament, he explains.
