How would I get gcc 3.4? I don't have it in my SuSE repositories. You think 
that would really make a difference having an older version of it?

What I gave you was the entire error log. basically. Those errors just go on 
for ever. if I don't hit ctrl+c on it the errors will take up the whole 
consol :P

And when installing, I've still been gettings problems that I had a year ago 
when I tried installing it (and failed) :/

Are you sure there isn't a binary any where?
