While M'Rrenn was in Ops he called Ambassador Dulath.

"Ambassador Dulath please....."

A few moments later, M'Rrenn's call was redirected to Ambassador Dulath's
office. The Cardassian was very pleased to see the Admiral's Assistant.
"Commander M'Rrenn, what a pleasure it is to see you. How may I help you
this morning?" Golan knew that the Caitian was returning his request to
talk
to someone about the the incidents involving DS9 and the Admiral.

"Ambassador I am sorry for taking so long to return your previous
call to Commander Firehawk. Unfortunately Admiral Lasiter is still very
busy with a special project that he has been working on for some time now.
He has asked me if there was something that I can do to help you. Of
course I am merely the Chief of Staff, and if you require someone a bit
higher up in the chain of command, I can arrange for you to see Admiral
t'Llweiir, or Admiral Lasiter by week's end. Admiral Lasiter did not want
to make you wait for him if your business was time sensitive." M'Rrenn
said ever so politely as he was reputed to be.

Golan now knew that something was very wrong in Starfleet. He had seen the
morning news. He also doubted that Lasiter was one to push aside a desired
meeting with a representatives of one of the major powers in the region. At
the same time, Golan knew what he had to say could be handled by M'Rrenn.
That did not mean he was not going to look further into the situation.

"I understand, Commander. I appreciate your willingness to speak to me this
morning. I was hoping to talk with the Admiral to offer my personal
apologies and the apologies of my government for events he was involved with
on DS9. I also want to put forth that my government had nothing to do with
these events."

"I am sure that Admiral Lasiter would appreciate that very much.
Perhaps we could discuss tis further over lunch? A more civilized and
personal atmosphere would seem to be more approperiate then a comm channel.
Don't you think?"
