Golan Dulath settled into a booth
that had been reserved for him and the
Admiral's Caitian assistant.
He was looking forward to this. He needed to
get somethings off his
chest both as the official representative of his
government and
personally.
He sat and waited for the arrival of Commander M'Rrenn.
He was not waiting for long. The commotion had subsided in Ops
enough for
the shift change, and M'Rrenn went on his way. he
arrived, and quickly
found the Cardassian Ambassador.
"Ambassador, I am sory for keeping you waiting."
the alrge cat said
upon his approach.
"Not a problem, Commander.
I saw the news this morning and realize that I
may not be the
biggest priority on the station at this moment. I appreciate
you
taking the time to meet with me."
"Please, Ambassador the pleasure is mine. "
"Before we get down to
business, how are things going with all of that? I
find
it hard
to believe that Dr. Brennan would ever try and hurt anyone,
particularly
someone he has such a close *working* relationship with." The tone
in Golan's
voice made it clear that he was sincere, but also that he knew
something more
than what was being said.
"Things are going as one would expect,
Ambassador. It is my hope that the press will exercise restraint.
But I am not getting my hopes up." M'Rrenn replied trying to be diplomatic
with this topic. It was a hot one at the moment, and he realized there
would be questions.
