From a position unobserved, Cax'Pa Nabru watched the contest between
Brennan and Ael with interest. She did not take "baby-sitting"
assignments normally, but in this case she had accepted. She had a debt
to pay.

The security personnel were dispersing themselves throughout the gardens
and escorting everyone out. Nabru heard one coming her way.

There was a brief distortion, like reality had gone out of phase for an
instant.

A young security officer, an ensign, stopped when he saw another security
officer. "Excuse me, Lieutenant," the ensign said."

"That's ok, Ensign," Nabru said with a mellow baritone that had not been
hers a second ago. "You go back to the right, I'll continue to look in
this area."

"Aye, Sir," the young man replied before moving off in the direction
ordered.

Nabru resisted the temptation to scratch the brawny arm of the large
humanoid male form she now inhabited. She knew the itch had nothing to do
with the flesh, but of the Star Fleet uniform that touched it. Even these
many years since the Academy and her disgrace, she had a strong aversion
to the uniform, in all its many design veriations.

She turned back towards the scene between Brennan, Ael and K'Tael and
simply watched and listened.

It did not seem to be going well.

>"Understood," he said, sounding beaten. "I will refrain from attacking
>anyone else." There was no bite to his sarcasm, only defeat.
>
>"That was not what I mean, Doctor," said K'Tael who was really
>uncomfortable with dealing with these type of situations. "I know that
>you are innocent, and I doubt that you meant any harm to the Ambassador
>here. What I meant was that people who don't know you as well just don't
>take your innocence as being obvious thanks to the everfriendly press
>corps. I am required to respond to a call when it indicates that someone
>might be in physical danger. I came myself alone with the hopes of
>preventing this from becoming a news event."

With the number of people who had been drawn to the sound of their combat,
Nabra suspected that it was already too late.

Somebody was going to talk.

She would wait until time for Brennan to leave, then she would again join
the "shadows" as Carrhae called them who would leave with the doctor.

(ooc: yes, this is a new face in the place. i'll be npcing her.)
