Candance leaned into him and laid her head on his shoulder, letting him
comfort her. For a moment, her face darkened with intense anger at the
Romulan who had taken the feeling of security away from her. If she ever
faced him again, she did not know if she would be able to stop herself
from killing him. Slowly and with as much pain physically as he had
caused her mentally.
But they were unlikely to face one another again, for his diplomatic
status had secured his safe return to the Empire.
With a slow release of her breath, she let the anger go. Finally, she
whispered, "I know it is time. I just needed your support."
