>Kitanya had been up for some time now. She nad not been sleeping well, and
>the strange conversations that she had last night with Admiral t'Llhweiir
>about Matt and her own mate, had only served to aggrevate her bad habbit.
>It was in the middle of her morning exercise routine that the message got to
>her. There was a highly important, and classified, briefing that was to
>happen at 0745 hours in a briefing room on station. Folks from Intell and
>Security would be there. The meeting was to be led by a Captain John Cook
>Black, the assistant director of a multi organization task force and the
>chief of staff for a sector commander out on the border somewhere.

It was only 0517, she had time to finish her training session. She resumed
the holodeck program and dispatched her final opponents with the Jirr'ith,
the sword of her ancestors. It meant more to her than anyone knew, more
than even her beloved bat'telh that her father had given her. She rarely
used it, but she had felt the need after yesterday, and it felt good to
have the weapon designed by the ancient warriors of her clan in her hands.

The experience had left her calmer, but had also honed her 'edge'. She
wasn't sure how this meeting would turn out, but she was ready for it.

>Upon arrival people were taking their seats as a lonely ensign was passing
>out materials for the briefing. The screen was still showing the Starfleet
>logo. A moment later the image blinked and the face of an attractive man
>appeared. The mad was the mad of the hour, Captain Black.

She had no idea who this human was, but he obviously had something to say.
She waited patiently.

>"Good morning everyone. I am so sorry to call you together at this crazy
>hour. I have some very important news to relay to all of you, and a plan to
>introduce......" the man said calling the meetin to order...

Why wasn't Lasiter here? Who was this captain to call a gathering of
admirals to order? There were several questions she had about all of this,
but she had learned that listening got her farther in life than talking, so
she sat quietly, paying attention to the others in the room as well.

(waiting)
