They left t'Llhweiir to her decision, to watch in Lasiter's office or in
hers, and headed to the press conference. On the way a trio of Press Office
staff met them, and walked with them. As they walked they discussed the
meeting agenda and what was to be said.

Upon arrival, two of the press office folk entered a small room with
Renaud and Lasiter. They waited there for the meeting to formally start and
to touch up a few remarks that Lasiter would be making.

It was about 5 minutes after 1100 hours, the scheduled start time
for the press conference, when things began.

"Folks, please take your seats. Admiral Lasiter will be out in just
a few moments. I would like to make a few remarks before we really start
this morning." called the press office staffer. It was apparent that this
officer was well known to the press, perhaps someone that had handled such
press conferences in the past.

"For those that do not know me I am Captain t'leeia of the Starfleet
Public Relations Office. I would like to lay a few ground rules before we
start. First off, Admiral Lasiter will be here to make a brief statement,
then he will be taking a few questions. He is a very busy officer, as we
all are these days, and will not be taking questions from everyone, but will
try to take as many as possible. To accomodate as many of you as possible
we ask that you pose no more than one question, and one follow up if need
be. Also, Admiral Lorin Renaud of Starfleet Security will be accompanying
Admiral Lasiter today. You may questions of Admiral Renaud, but the same
rules apply. This is not a case of you have two questions- one for the CinC
and another for Adm. Renaud. You have only one and a follow up that is
related, and these will be directed to the same officer. Remember we want
to allow as many of you as possible to get your questions in. Ok" said
the press officer.
