"Yes, right here in the second row."  Lasiter said in recognition of a reporter.

"This is a good question.  Let me address your question on the separate incidents in question.  To my knowledge the most recient incident, with the Romulan Ambassador, was not an assult.  From what I have been told that was a most unfortunate case of poor judgement.  Dr. Brennan and the Romulan Ambassador are old aquaintences, and were engaged in a friendly sparing match.  Security was called as some understandably believed that the the Ambassador was in danger.  Now, I said this was a case of poor judgement.  Better judgement, as is the case when hindsight is used, would have led them to spar in a more private location with their respective security contingent present.  A regretable misunderstanding is all that this was, nothing clandestine."

While the CinC was talking M'Rrenn took a step over to Renaud and whispered in his ear, "He may defer part of his answer to you.  You may want to prepare your answer while you have a moment."

"Now, the assult on Admiral t'Llhweiir.  Since that investigation is still ongoing, there is not much that I can comment on.  However, I understand that Admiral Renaud and Commander K'Tael will be giving briefings on the investigation by weeks end."  Lasiter answered looking at Renaud with a look that conveyed that if they had not planned on it, to do so.

Lasiter continued, "That being said I will say this, that the first time that I heard that he was a suspect was in the news report.  Since Dr. Brennan was part of the team that was present to deal with the emergency, I can not imagine why he would be a suspect.  Please keep in mind and relay to your respective audiences that, he did take an active role in trying to get to Admiral t'Llhweiir and to provide her with medical attention.  That is something that we should not lose site of."
