"I think that will be wise, sirrr, but with the situation at the borrrderr,
I may not be back in time. I can find out forrr you who she is tomorrrrow
morrrning - I have a meeting with yourrr brrrotherr to discuss how this
meeting went and whetherrr you werrre going to go along with what they
wanted," she smiled. "I hope that I will rrreturrn in time forrr the next
meeting. I also have some plans to look into the Caitian side of things.
We arrren't a big rrreprresentation in the fleet, but given what I saw last
night of the divisions among the Tellarrrites, it might be nice to have one
loyal grrroup on yourrr side."

(resp?)

"One was verrry vocal against you (can't remember his name). He wanted to
stop talking and take action. Howeverrr, therrre werrre Tellarrrites that
walked out with the Betazoid. The Vulcans prrreach patience, and the humans
arrre all overrr the map. Otherrr grrroups werrre only rrreprresented by
one orrr two people, so I would not want to give an opinion. Rrright now,
they lack unity; they fight among themselves and cannot come to a consensus.
But if you take a wrrrong step, sirrr, it may be enough to unite them, and
togetherrr, I believe they would be a forrrmidable forrrce."

"Admiral, I sense that you are have a conflict over loyality.  Between my and your obligations to Starfleet Command and to this group that took you into their confidence.  I must know what I am up against if I am to do anything to save what we have." he prodded gently.

"Oh, good old Kyle Kettering..." he said in a way that summed up a! n old friendship that had soured.

"Admiral Kettering and I go way back.  We served together on the USS Rigel.  Our careers and individual styles destroyed our friendship.  Not to bore you with the details, but it happened on the USS Ajax during the war.  We were both young Lietuenants without a senior staff.  We technically both at the same level in the chain of command, and that dispute finished us off.  Anyway, he will be hard to deal with.  Particularily if he thinks that he should be the Commander in Chief of Starfleet.    Let's just hope it does not go that far.

Now that Betazoid Admiral is interesting.  If she is for real, then I want to meet her.  I want to help her any way that I can.  Change in the way that she favors is the best way.  Slow, dileberate, and from within.  Not form the top rolling down.  Perhaps a meeting should be set up once the reform of Starfleet Command is announced and a few other iniatives are launched.  Perhaps some action on my part will warm things up a bit and ease a conversation.....  What are your thoughts?"
