Audra decided to stop off at a restaurant to grab breakfast before her
meeting. A part of her hoped Joe Garibaldi would join her as she took a bite
of her fruit salad. She had really enjoyed the dinner they had had a few
days earlier. She particularly enjoyed the darts.

It still amazed her how busy the Promenade could be at 0600 hours. There
were people moving about their businesses. Shops were open, and, thankfully,
restaurants of all sorts were serving breakfast.

Upon completion of her salad, she put her napkin on the table and thanked the
waitress on her way out the door. She grabbed a very crowded turbolift on
her way to the Operations Center. As the car climbed the stories of the
station, it slowly emptied until she was alone when the doors parted on Ops.
She stepped off the turbolift and made her way over to her station. She had
purposefully come on duty 15 minutes early in order to check over the shift
reports and get herself prepared to just step in when the meeting with
Admiral Lasiter and the other was completed.

Very little had occurred over the evening. Security reported the usual
number of problems with pickpockets and a little to much drink. A couple of
ships had docked, but none of the crews had yet to disembark or start
unloading their stocks. All-in-all a quiet evening.

At five minutes to 7:00, Lt. Arsineau stepped off the turbolift with his
usual smile. "You are awful early this morning." The question, which was
not stated but implied, was clearly after the reason for her early arrival.

"You forget my early meeting," she replied.

"Oh, goody, does that mean I get to be in charge again."

Audra couldn't help but smile in response. "You know that answer to that.
But don't get too comfortable. I am not expecting this meeting to be too
long, and I will expect you to hand over the crown when I get back," she said
as she picked up a PADD and started heading toward Lasiter's office sweet.

"Yes, your highness," Brad replied with a laugh as he watched her head off.
