Now, I have two main questions at the moment. First, the Romulans want
some control in this investigation. While I am not keen on the idea, I am
open to relaxing the rules a bit if it will help secure their assistance in
catching this assassin Starr. Admrial Renaud I trust your judgement in this
matter, and will keep out of it unless you ask. As far as I am concerned
you have total descression. But my question is this, how much can we count
on their help? Is it really worth bending over backwards to get their help?
My second question is what do you intend on telling the press about these
new developments, or should I be asking do you intend on telling the press
anything?"
It was obvious to those that had been in meetings with Lasiter before
that this one was different. He was actually letting someone else say
something, and he was not giving stern directives. Good lord he was
actually delegating and trusting somone other than Admiral Garibaldi or
Cmdr. M'Rrenn, his chief of staff. Could he actually be pleased at
something, couldn't be..... {OOC: sorry for the sarcasism, but I have had
caffeine (aka soda)this morning and I feel good.}
OOC: Hey, whatever works for you. I am a javahound here.)
Audra had sat quietly throughout the discussion to this point. There had
been little for her to add. While Lasiter had changed in his approach, he
seemed to be doing well.
"To answer your question ... Well, sir, I think that it is imperitve that we
tell the press something, particularly with the current circumstances
concerning Dr. Brennen's whereabouts. We don't know where he is, and the
press is going to figure that out pretty quick. If we don't make sure they
know that he has been cleared and that they have evidence to the fact, then
they are going to say that he has gone on the lamb."
The comment from the young officer was a suprising one for Dais. Not so
much because of what it was, but who said it. hHe was quickly coming to
realize that Audra Firehawk was not only a young officer, but one who knew
what she was doing. "I have to agree with Commander Firehawk, Admiral.
Might I suggest that we use the information we obtained using the doctor's
communicator during the attack on Admiral t'Llthweir? It would allow us to
provide information they would need without revealing any of our hand with
the Romulans."
