"Thank you, Captain," she said, watching as they filed out and back to
their quarters. Once they had gone, she relaxed, returning to her more
laid-back demeanor. "They rrreally should have known betterrr. I'll keep
an eye on them. And I apologize forrr any inconvenience they caused you."
"No worries here, Admiral." Black said kindly. Greatful that she is not at all
like Snellings.
"I think I'll go change, firrrst. These trrravelling clothes arrre nice if
I was going to be meeting a diplomat, but not much good forrr rrreal
worrrk." Being an admiral meant she had to be presentable when she
travelled, even if it was to a secret base for a confidential mission.
"And then I think I'll get a bite to eat beforrre the Caitians arrrive. I
want to talk to them firrrst beforrre we addrrress the joint teams. Does
yourrr base have a cafe, orrr just rrreplicatorrs?"
"What we have is more like a diner or lunch counter than a cafe, only with a
crappy view. It is on deck 4. I can show you there, if you like?"
