> "Nothing good.... The Pirates hit another 2 cargo vessels, and left a
pair of cutters a drift without power. Lost about 200 souls, rescued
another 260. One of our intell operatives running a deep cover is over due
on his report. I had hoped to get his information by the time you arrived,
but that is ot the case. I am about to declare him lost, as it has been
nearly a week past his scheduled check in." Black said not at all happy.

>At the small mess hall, which was really what it was, she ordered a
chicken salad with a light sesame dressing. She intended to begin training
that evening and didn't want a heavy meal. She did help herself to extra
bread though - the carbs would help. After they sat down, she mixed the
dressing with her salad. "Since you've seen the teams and I haven't,
Captain, what arrre yourrr imprrressions? We've neverrr rrrun a joint
black op with the Klingons beforrre, at least not in SpecOps. Intel may
have. Do you think they can get overrr any differrrences and become a good
team?" She took a bite of her salad. Torgash was still at the counter,
trying to explain why they needed to get some live food for the Klingons on
the station.

> "For this mission, I think so. It will not be easy, but it can be
done. There is too much at stake here and I feel that they will put their
collective honor and pride on the shelf for this one. The success or
failure of the cooperative effort will be largely due to your presence
here. You command quite a lot of respect from both sides.

> But considering that SpecOps and the Klingon Special Forces come from
two different backgrounds, particularily in strategic and tactical
doctrine.... well let's just say that the importance of this mission and
your presence will unite them for the short term. Long term... I am only
willing to comment on the matter at hand." Black said with all candor and
tact.

"Underrrstood," she replied, taking another bite. She was hungrier than
she'd thought. "Ideally, I'd like this to be the beginning of a
cooperrrative endeavourrr that will benefit both the Empirrre and the
Federrration. We have mutual enemies that it seems silly forrr us to be
keeping secrrrets about. But we'll just have to see how this goes. Oh, I
was wonderrring. Perrrhaps the two of us and the Klingon commanderrr
should have dinnerrr togetherrr tonight, worrrk out the bugs at the top
while the teams arrren't watching. Orrr have the two of you alrrready
rrresolved these issues? I'm only the trrraining superrrvisorr, rrrememberr."
