>screw the price consessions...." he counter offered.

She shrugged. "It's not too surprising, or moral if you think about it.
Ultimately it's fairly self-serving. Anywhere from a third to half of the
people who come through the slave railroad opt to join my staff. Most of
them are so used to taking orders they're easy to train. And in return,
they find a community where their various backgrounds, scars, and traumas
aren't out of place or laughed at. And, I pay well, which never hurts.

"As for the base - well, I'll take the cargo shipments. The slaves are
usually run through one of my 'legitimate' shipping businesses anyway, and
trade routes are being changed all the time. And I'll take the docking slip
and quarters. However, I won't need to use Spacedock. Anyone who's
starting a new life has to go through one of my rehab facilities anyway, so
by the time they got to Spacedock, they would be just another face in the
crowd.

"And about the prices - don't worry. Legitimate commercial cargo never pays
as well as gun-running or simple blackmail. That's why I've never dealt in
it. Well, except for that run on those Tickle-Me-Hortas a few years back.
That was a lucrative gamble." She looked at him. "So you seem open enough,
but how far is Lasiter going to hit the roof when you tell him you've just
given a docking slip in one of your most secret bases to Selara D'amondra,
terror of the galaxy?"

Garibaldi understood... "The offer is still open, should you need it. Never can
tell when a change in plan may be needed.

Lasiter will be fine with it, as he will nto exactly know about it. As far as he
knows you are transporting parts for the project and some entertainment that can not
be replicated in a halodeck or data card. " he answered with a smile...
