> Without looking he gruffed without taking out the cigar, "Doubt
>that. I have been dealing with a pretty annoying Garibaldi lately. You
>may only amount to a rash... But just the same....." he finally turned to
>face her. "Well you are a different one... Only seen one other like you,
>she was Selara somethin' or other. No matter... "
Serana's eyes flashed. "What are you, from the 20th century? Not many
people call me a 'rash' and get away with it."
> He then abruptly turned back to the engineering crew and yelled,
>"You moron, I told you to spot weld it in first. Then make sure that it is
>connected right. What the hell are you a recruit. Get it right or get
>Thompson to do it. What am I working with here, idiots. Maxwell, get over
>there and make sure that he does not screw this pooch.." he was quite
>nasty in his remarks. But then again, he was from a different era.....
>
> "Sorry, you wanted to know the first ship you need to check out the
>sickbay facilities, right..... Well, you can start here. I will show you
>the way. Some of the cooridors are not up and running just yet... open to
>space and no atmosphere."
>
"I see now why Garibaldi's getting on your case." She followed him through
the dusty, noisy walkways.
>
>While on the way they passed several work crews, and each got a new set of
>instructions from the Boss. Each responded with either a 'Yes, Boss.' or
>'Aye, Skipper'.
>
("Skipper"?) Serana thought to herself.
>The ship was dark, only about half of the lights were on. The trip seemed
>to take forever, like they were going out of their way on purpose.
>However, they finally got there.
>
>Upon entry, some one yelled, "Attention on deck."
>
> "Oh stop that crap. There is no time for that. Just keep
>working. If I need someone I will yell for them." he answered. "New guy.
>Still thinks that I am a Captain or somethin'. Can't seem to get him to
>relax and just work. Too interested in protocol." , Carroll said to
>Serana.
"It happens. They'll mellow out after a few hundred years." Serana looked
around at the space, which was still dark with unconnected power cords
sparking, unsecured bulkheads, and not really much sign of being an actual
sickbay. "This is it? I understood these sickbays were almost done and
just needed overseeing."
