"Well, we're only going down the hall," Michael told her.  "My advance people
are only a room away, we've got the corridor sealed off at each end, and once
we get the warrant, we'll go.  We've been tracking this guy, Montoya, for
several years, but he's proven to be overly elusive.  He's wanted on several
warrants for terrorist activity, and he's not known for his manners, so we're
exercizing all due caution.  The corridor has been evacuated, as have the rooms
above  and below in twenty-five meter radius."

Shortly there after the warrent arrived, signed sealed and delivered...

"What kind of resistance should we expect?" asked Aravis as Michael looked
over the warrant.

"Maximal," Michael told her, finding it all in order.  He handed it off to one of
the more junior members of the team.  "Let's go," he said.

They moved quickly, soundlessly, down the corridor, Michael taking a place in the
rear of the column.  He always felt strange, going in last, but that was his lot as
the team leader.  He kept Aravis beside him, and handed her a headset as they
walked.  As they approached the door, Maggie had her tricorder out and was aiming
it at the doorway.

"Electronic lock," she whispered, her voice coming in clearly through the
headset.  "And a portable door alarm as well.  Schaeffer Model 7-A."  She inputted
a command and then nodded.  "Door alarm is overridden," she told them.

"Hacker?" Michael asked into his headset.

"One more moment on the lock....."  They head the barely audible click before they
heard his acknowledgment.  "You own the room, boss," his computer geek told him.

"No other obstacles?" Michael verified.

"None."

Michael pulled his Sig-Sauer and released the safety, holding the weapon pointed at
the floor just in front of him.  The four team members who would rush into the room
already had their heavy weapons drawn and had activated their personal dampening
fields.  They were looking to Michael for his signal.

He nodded, and Maggie executed the command that opened the door.

Behind the initial four came another two, and then finally, Michael, Maggie and
Aravis.  By the time they cleared the threshold, the subject was on the floor, his
hands pinned together and the heavy blaster he'd been trying to bring to bear was
beyond his reach.  After a moment of struggling, he realized he was had, and went
flaccid.  Michael's team dragged him to his feet as their boss came forward. This
was a particularly nasty felon, and they weren't taking any chances.  The warrant
had covered neural suppression for transport.  "Mr. John Lewis Montoya, I am
Michael Nash, Inspector, Federation Bureau of Investigation.  You are officially
being served a warrant for your arrest on the charges of acts of terrorism.  I have
judicial authority to use neural restraint."  He placed the neural deactivator on
Montoya's forehead and activated it.  He immediately went limp between the two
agents holding him.  They affixed an antigrav module and then escorted him away.

"Another easy one, boss," Maggie said as they all reholstered their weapons.

"The way I like 'em," he said.  He turned to the security assistant.  "Sorry it was
so boring," he told her.  "But... not really."

Aravis was perplexed by the action.  It had almost seemed too easy.  "Well, sometimes boring can be good, Inspector Nash."
