Garibaldi and Dais were at JAG for about 20 minutes neogating for a warrent
only to be sent to a judge. Another 20 minutes later they were able to see a
judge on one of his recesses.
They entered his chambers.
"Good afternoon Judge. I am Commander Joseph Garibaldi, and this is
Commander Dais, Spacedock XO. We are looking for a warrent, sir." Joe said
once inside.
Looking over the warrent application, the Judge answers, "Well, you have
come to the right place. Looks like you are going after a diplomat. Have you
arranged this with the embassy? You do realize that the subject has
diplomatic immunity."
"No sir we have not. However, we have spoken to the Bajoran government by
way of Admiral Lasiter, and they have agreed to wave immunity in this case.
We went around the embassy because we fear that others may be involved, and we
did not want to tip them off or provide an oppertunity for the suspect to
tamper with any evidence."
"This is not a fishing expedition, Commander. You are asking for an arrest
warrent."
"Yes, sir. However if you look at the attachments you will see formal
notification from the Bajoran Foreign Ministery waving the diplomatic immunity
rights of both our subject and his living quarters and work areas both inside
and outside fo the embassy. A second warrent application for a search is also
provided, sir."
"Oh I see that one now. "
The judge says nothing for what seems like an eternity as he reads over the
applications and included attachments.
"Signed and sealed Commanders. Happy hunting. I just hope you have your
teflon suits on, because this is going to get nasty." the judge commented,
off the record of course.
"Thank you sir." Joe said with a smile.
***** after they leave and are on their way to the Embassy *****
"That was easy enough. I am happy that he approved everything so quickly.
Any thoughts before we do our raid..."
