"Tell me about him."
"He is a nasty one. I think it might be worth just making sure he ends up behind bars for as long as possible. The problem is that he may be able to help us bring down some of the bosses of the group. His cooperation is going to cost us something...."
"You are worried that he might try to get a plea bargain that will get his punishment down to nothing or off altogether," replied K'Tael.
Audra nodded in response.
"You can't worry about that, Audra. It is not part of our job. Our job is to bring these jerks in. It is JAGs job to make sure justice is brought against them. All plea bargains fall under their jurisdiction anyway so you would have to talk to them. They might be better able to help you come to terms with what to do now. Considering what you have said about this. I am sure that they would question the possibility of a plea bargain."
Audra could not believe how simple it all came down. She had not even thought about talking to the JAG office on the station. "I had not thought about it that way, K'Tael."
"Well, you have done very well in this investigation. I will not count it against you," K'Tael said with a smile.
"I will head there right now, and see if I can meet with one of their lawyers."
"Good luck," he replied. "And feel free to drop in for advice whenever you like," he said as she slid out of the office.
With that Audra left the Security Chief's office with thanks before heading down to the JAG office. She made her way up to the receptionist's desk. "I would like to meet with one of the officers about a case I am working on."
