Time passed quickly. It was not long before the USS Hathor hooked up with the
convoy.
"Black to Kitanya. We just recieved a line of sight, beamed communication. It
would appear as if a Klingon ship has joined the convoy cloaked. Shall I
reply, sir?"
"Affirrrmative," she replied. "Acknowledge and tell them to stay out of it
unless things get out of contrrrol."
******* A few hours later *******
The Special Operations crew were doing their thing, relaxing, preparing
mentally for the job ahead. Some were sparing, polishing up a few techniques
that they felt that needed improvement.
All of the fun and waiting was suddenly over.
"General Quarters, General Quarters. All Hands man your battle stations.
This is not a drill. Convoy is under attack." came a tensed voice from the
bridge to all decks, seconds before the red alert klaxon went off.
It was time...
Kit went to the transporter room with the teams. Technically she wasn't
supposed to join in on any missions, but then, Lasiter wasn't here, was he?
And for this first one, she needed to be there to evaluate them, see how they
handled real combat as a team, and frankly, she was spoiling for a good fight.
She wanted to see these felinids up close.
She sent the first team to the transporter pad. She herself would wait until
the last group went over. This was their show, and she didn't want them
feeling like she was a babysitter. "We've got to wait until they get theirrr
shields down, teams. Loose and focused, everrrybody." They waited until they
got their signal.
It was a long 10 minutes. The Hathor took a few good hits, and gave several
more for good measure. The call came down.
"Captain Lasiter to Kitanya. Your teams are a go. Begin transport
immediately."
{response}
As the teams transported the Hathor took another few hits, nearly knocking
those that remained off their feet. A good battle had erupted. A glorious
battle indeed.
On the Felinid ship the teams found a strange environment. The deck was not
hard, but soft like grass. It was synthetic, but oddly strange. The lighting
was bright, but suddenly went dim. Most likely in response to the teams being
detected- a ship breach. Felinids had better night vision than most others,
and the dim lighting would favor them. The could hear the felinids... they
were coming to greet the new comers...
